## Prepare Your Jobs for LinkedIn

Kit gives your employer an authenticated XML feed of current, eligible jobs.
LinkedIn must approve and connect this source before it can ingest them. Saving
settings or seeing a role in the feed does not mean it is published on LinkedIn.

For employer Job Wrapping, ask LinkedIn for a Job Slots contract that includes
XML wrapping. Confirm the total price and entitlement before buying. LinkedIn
Premium, Recruiter Lite and LinkedIn sign-in do not provide this integration.
Kit's platform partner evaluation is a separate approval process.

## Find Your Company ID

Open [**Hiring → Settings → Career portal → LinkedIn job feed**](/hiring/settings/linkedin_job_feed)
as an account administrator. The feed is off by default.

Enter your numeric **Employer LinkedIn Company ID or URL**. You can paste a
numeric Company Page URL or its admin URL:

```text
https://www.linkedin.com/company/12345678/
https://www.linkedin.com/company/12345678/admin/
```

Kit extracts `12345678` when you save. To find the number, open **Find your
Company ID** in settings, then open your employer's LinkedIn Page in admin view
and copy the digits after `/company/` from the address bar. If you are not a Page
administrator, ask one for the ID or admin URL.
[LinkedIn's official instructions](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a415420)

A named URL such as `/company/employer-name/` does not contain the numeric ID.
Use the number or an HTTPS numeric Page/admin URL on `linkedin.com` or
`www.linkedin.com`. Kit does not look up company names or verify Page ownership.
After saving, use **Open employer Page** beside the saved ID to confirm the
intended employer. Rejected input leaves your existing settings intact.

## Configure the Connection

1. Enter the designated **Corporate job-owner email**. Use the employer's
   corporate address for the person responsible for these jobs.
2. Save. Kit generates a unique machine password and displays the exact feed URL.
   Use **Copy feed URL** and **Copy feed password**; the password remains masked.
   The connection's HTTP Basic username is `linkedin`.
3. Review **Job readiness** and correct missing information in each source job.
4. Confirm that the employer authorizes sharing these jobs, then select
   **Include jobs in the feed** and save.
5. Give LinkedIn the feed URL, employer Company Page and expected ready-job count
   through its automated job-source setup, selecting **LinkedIn Jobs XML**.
   Confirm authentication and share the machine password through the secure
   activation channel agreed with LinkedIn.
   [LinkedIn's source setup instructions](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1310943)

This password is for the feed connection. It is not your LinkedIn account password.
Saving settings preserves it. The current settings page has no password rotation
action. The feed includes public job information and the designated poster email;
it does not export candidates or applications.

Copy the URL from settings. These are examples of the two supported portal types:

```text
https://startupkit.app/careers/your-company/jobs/linkedin
https://careers.your-company.com/jobs/linkedin
```

The custom-domain URL belongs to your Kit career portal. A separately hosted
careers frontend does not automatically serve this endpoint.

## Make a Job Ready

A job must be published, accepting applications and enabled for external job-board
distribution. Sample jobs never appear. A ready job also needs:

- A title and at least 100 visible description characters.
- A recognized country and an onsite city, or one unambiguous country for remote
  availability. Use the actual structured **Job board location** fields.
- A valid direct HTTPS application URL, which Kit generates for your portal.

Kit currently sends **Remote** or **On-site** workplace types. Hybrid roles are
unsupported; turn off **Publish this job to external job boards** for those jobs.
This shared switch also excludes the role from other Kit job-board feeds. Do not
reduce an EU or multi-country remote role to an arbitrary country just to pass readiness.
Use the job's actual workplace and employment details.

## Confirm Publication and Removal

LinkedIn controls approval, crawl timing and publication. Confirm a live listing
and its application link with LinkedIn after it connects the source. Kit's job
readiness screen checks source information and inclusion settings. It does not
verify LinkedIn's employer eligibility requirements or publication status.

Each authenticated fetch returns the complete current snapshot. Closing, pausing,
unpublishing or discarding a job, or turning off its external distribution,
removes it from the next snapshot. Turning off **Include jobs in the feed** returns
an authenticated empty snapshot with the same credentials. Agree with LinkedIn
how omitted jobs are withdrawn, then verify removal of a previously live listing.

## Troubleshoot the Feed

| Symptom | What to check |
| --- | --- |
| Authentication fails | Save valid Company ID and email settings, then use the username `linkedin` and the generated machine password. Opening the URL without credentials returns `401`. |
| The feed contains no jobs | Check that inclusion is enabled and review each job's readiness and external distribution setting. A configured disabled feed deliberately returns an empty list. |
| A job is missing | Correct the reasons shown under **Job readiness**. Check country, onsite city, description, publication state and distribution consent. |
| A job is in the XML but missing on LinkedIn | Ask your LinkedIn source contact about approval, the latest fetch and publication. |
| Saving a Company Page URL fails | Use the numeric ID or an HTTPS numeric Company Page/admin URL. Vanity URLs, profiles, search URLs and other hosts are rejected. |
