Understand the Compensation Research dashboard. Filters, charts, role drill-downs, multi-currency, and board requests.
Why It Matters
The dashboard shows salary ranges advertised in job listings. Use filters to compare roles, locations, and experience levels.
The median and percentiles use the lower bounds of advertised ranges, converted to monthly amounts in the selected currency. Listings without a stated pay period are excluded from those calculations. The figures do not show actual employee pay.
Filters
All filters auto-submit. Select a value and the dashboard updates immediately.

Some boards don’t state an employment type or experience level. Those listings are left out when you filter by that field.
Summary Cards
Four cards at the top of the dashboard show key metrics at a glance:

Salary by Role
Horizontal bar chart showing the salary range (min to max) for each tracked role cluster. The darker band represents the interquartile range (25th–75th percentile). Click any role to drill down into its detail page.
Salary by Technology
Bar chart of the top 15 technologies ranked by median salary. Useful for spotting which tech stacks command premium compensation.
Salary Distribution
Histogram showing how salaries are distributed across price brackets. Helps you understand whether the market is concentrated around a midpoint or spread wide.
Market Trends
Area chart showing changes in the average lower bound of advertised ranges over time (typically 6 months). Use this to spot whether compensation for your tracked roles is trending up, down, or holding steady.
Top Hiring Companies
Bar chart of companies with the most active job listings. Shows who’s hiring most aggressively in your tracked roles and selected countries.
Regional Breakdown
Table showing the average monthly lower bound of advertised ranges and listing count by region. Columns: Region, Avg. Salary, Listings.
Role Detail Page
Click any role in the Salary by Role chart to open its detail page. This page shows:
- Summary cards: Median, 25th percentile, 75th percentile, and total listings for that role
- Filters: Experience level, employment type, country, technology, city, workplace type, and currency
- Salary by location: Side-by-side monthly P25, median, and P75 for comparable cities and remote work
- Listings table: Every matching job listing with sortable columns:

Results are paginated. Use column headers to sort by any field.
Reading Location Comparisons
Every location is compared with the role’s all-location median in the selected currency. Kit normalizes salary periods to monthly amounts and canonicalizes city spellings before grouping them. A listing can appear in both its named city and the remote row when it is advertised as remote.
Kit quotes a location only when it has at least five salaried listings from at least three companies. Thinner rows stay visible as Not enough data to compare instead of presenting one employer’s range as a market benchmark. Listings without a stated pay period are counted separately and excluded from the comparison.
CSV Exports
Use Export CSV on either screen. Exports preserve the filters currently in the URL:
- The dashboard export is a market summary for the selected countries, experience level, employment type, period, and currency.
- A role export contains the filtered listing rows for that role, including country, city, technology, workplace type, and the other role filters.
CSV export is included with the active Kit subscription.
Multi-Currency
Switch the Currency dropdown to display all salaries in a different currency. Exchange rates are updated daily from the European Central Bank. Supported currencies: PLN, EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, CZK, SEK, NOK, DKK, HUF.
Currency selection applies to summary cards, charts, and listing tables simultaneously.
Requesting New Job Boards
Want data from a job board Kit doesn’t track yet? Submit a request:
- Click Request Board on the dashboard (or go to Board Requests)
- Fill in the board name, URL, country, role focus, and any notes
- Click Submit Request
Track your requests in the Board Requests list. Each request shows its status: Pending, Approved, or Rejected.
