Badges

Badges mark milestones of work done properly in Hiring and Security. What earns one, who can see it, and how to switch the feature on, go quiet, or opt out.

Why It Matters

Good work in hiring and security often shows up as a problem that never happened: a candidate who got a reason, a researcher who got an answer in time. A badge names that work for the person who did it.

Badges are a private record first. There are no points, no rankings, and no team view. Nobody can see what a colleague has not earned.

Switch Badges On

Badges are off until an account admin switches them on.

  1. Go to Account settings → General.
  2. Under Badges, choose Switch on badges.

Work already on record is counted, and each person who has earned something gets one notification. New badges are worked out about once an hour, so one never arrives the moment you finish a task.

Choosing Switch off badges deletes every badge in the account.

Important

Badges are worked out from each member’s own hiring and security records. Tell your team what is counted before you switch this on. Do not ask people to show their badges, and do not use badges in appraisals, pay, or dismissal decisions.

Note

For German tenants: works-council co-determination (BetrVG §87(1) Nr. 6) covers systems capable of monitoring performance, whatever their purpose. Involve your works council before switching badges on.

What Earns a Badge

You see the badges for the modules you can open. Some have levels: the same work, kept up.

Hiring

Badge For Levels
In Writing A scorecard with written reasoning on an interview or take-home stage, filed while the candidate was still in that stage 5, then 25
Reason Given Telling a candidate why after an interview or take-home, in your own words 3
A Note with the Yes Moving a candidate forward with a personal note 3
Part of the Hire Being on the job team or an interview panel for a candidate who accepted an offer 1, then 5
Asked Back Inviting a past candidate from the talent pool, who then applied 1

Security

Badge For Levels
Acknowledged in SLA Replying to the researcher yourself inside the program’s response window 5, then 25
Fix Held Working on a report whose fix was verified 1, 5, then 15
Retested Retesting a fix and writing down what you tested, whether it passed or went back 3
Root Cause A postmortem that names the root cause and the corrective actions 1
The Right Question Asking a researcher to clarify a report that later proved valid 1

A few rules apply to all of them:

  • A scorecard needs real written reasoning. One-word comments and screening-stage reviews do not count.
  • Reason Given counts distinct messages. The example lines offered in the rejection form do not count.
  • Acknowledged in SLA needs a reply the researcher can read. Moving a report to Triaged without one does not count. The window is your program’s response target and never ends before the close of the next working day, so a Friday-evening report does not need a weekend. Everyone who replied in time is credited.
  • A scorecard or a reply that an AI agent submits for you does not count. A draft you review and send yourself does.
  • Sample data never counts.

For Reason Given and Retested, Kit must know that a person submitted the explanation or test note. Agent-submitted work and older entries without a recorded origin do not count toward these two badges.

Where Your Badges Live

Open your own profile and choose View badges, or open Badges from Omnisearch (Cmd+K or Ctrl+K).

  • Your profile shows your earned badges privately. Colleagues see only the badge artwork and names you choose to share, never levels or dates.
  • Your badges page shows only earned badges, grouped under Hiring and Security. Open one to see what it is for and when you earned each level. Unearned badges and future levels stay hidden.

A badge is never taken away by something that happens later, such as a rejection being reversed or a candidate’s data being removed.

Show a Badge on Your Profile

Only you see your badges unless you choose otherwise, one badge at a time.

  1. Open the badge.
  2. Choose Show on my profile.

Colleagues then see the badge and its name on your profile. They never see the level or the date. Choose Stop showing to take it back.

A badge that counted work on a restricted job posting or security report stays on your shelf and cannot be shown.

If the posting or report becomes restricted later, the badge is removed from your profile but remains on your shelf.

Go Quiet or Opt Out

At the bottom of Badges:

  • Don’t notify me stops the notifications. Badges are still added to your shelf.
  • Opt out deletes your badges and stops working them out for you. To colleagues this looks the same as having none. Choose Earn badges again to rejoin; past work is counted again from what is still on record.

What Admins Can and Cannot See

Admins can switch badges on or off for the account. They get no report, no export, and no view of anyone else’s shelf. Badges are not part of the account data export.
