Do I need a developer?
You can configure the hosted portal in Kit. A custom Next.js site gives you control of the code and requires someone to review, deploy, and maintain it.
Where do applications from a custom site go?
Applications submitted through Kit’s Public Jobs API enter your Kit hiring pipeline. Your team continues screening, interviews, and candidate communication there.
Does Kit host the custom Next.js site?
Kit hosts the built-in portal. You deploy and host your custom frontend separately, for example on Vercel. Your hosting provider’s charges are separate.
Can we start hosted and go custom later?
Yes. The hosted portal and the Public Jobs API use the jobs in your Kit account. When your custom site is ready, connect it to those jobs and choose where candidates should land.
