Guided Talent Sourcing
Set up a source, agree on job criteria, review retained profile evidence and refine a small search preview.
Before you start
Guided sourcing finds professional leads for one job. You need access to that job; starting searches or saving criteria and decisions requires its hiring manager or a Hiring administrator, plus an active subscription. Leads are not candidates or applications.
A search also needs an enabled, ready source. Kit-provided access is available only when an allowance has been granted to your account. For your own Lantern account, an account administrator opens Sourcing connections, connects it, reviews rights, price, expiry, request cap and retention, then activates the source. Setup does not run a search. The current search supports Poland (PL); an unresolved city must be resolved, not dropped.
Choose the source deliberately. An account default applies to future work. Changing an existing session’s source clears its prior source context. An unavailable selected source does not fall back to another one.
Start with the role
- Open the job under Hiring, choose Find people, then Start a conversation.
- Describe the work and the requirements that matter. Answer the agent’s questions one at a time; skip only where offered. The conversation and clarification answers stay private to you.
- Optionally choose company documents and your tone/language preferences in the session’s recruiting context. Only explicitly applied versions are used. Personal preferences stay private; company documents retain their existing Hiring-library audience.
- Review the proposed source filters, named review criteria, role selling points and open questions. Filters determine the search; criteria guide your review of the returned evidence.
The general Hiring assistant can open this workspace for you. Raw sourcing evidence is reviewed here or through a scoped MCP client, not in general assistant chat. See AI Agent and MCP Tools.
Share criteria, then request a preview
When the sourcing conversation or an MCP client proposes criteria, assessments or feedback, these first appear as a private draft. Open its review page while signed in and check the exact text and audience before publishing it to people with job access. A chat confirmation does not publish it. Private answers and reasons are not automatically shared.
Publishing a brief creates a proposal. Accept these shared criteria records acceptance separately. Neither action runs a search. Choose the exact published criteria version for the preview; a published proposal can be used before acceptance. A newer proposal does not replace your selection automatically.
Select Find up to 3 people to request the small preview. Review the displayed source reservation first. Source requests and credits are separate from AI usage; reserved usage is not a confirmed charge. If the outcome is uncertain, keep the existing request and check its status rather than starting another. Cancellation cannot undo already dispatched supplier work.
Read the evidence and make your decision
Open each retained profile and compare its quoted source excerpts with the criteria used for that round. A supplier match is not proof of suitability. Interest, availability, language level and working arrangements remain unknown until confirmed.
Manual review is always available. Ask Kit to assess these criteria is optional: it uses at most one metered model request and no supplier request; without retained excerpts it needs no model request. This button saves an assessment visible to people with access to the job. Assessments distinguish:
- Direct support or direct contradiction in the quoted text.
- Indirect information that needs an inference, leaving the criterion not established.
- Missing information, also not established. Missing evidence is not contradiction.
Check the excerpts yourself. A valid quotation does not establish that the source or interpretation is true. Choose Select, Pass or Skip for now, optionally add a professional reason, and review the sharing acknowledgment. An assessment does not make that decision for you. Undo preserves history and restores the previous effective judgment.
Refine one round at a time
Choose a retained preview round to see its original criteria and decisions. Counts cover the whole round and count each readable person once; unavailable profiles appear separately. Amending a decision adds no extra vote.
Review proposed changes against that round’s original criteria. Apply changes, Keep current and Find more profiles are separate actions. Choosing criteria starts no search. Each new preview requires your explicit request and uses the exact selected published version; earlier evidence remains tied to its original criteria.
Preview a recruiting sequence
Under Sequence, choose an accessible Outreach campaign linked to the same job. You also need Outreach and sender permissions. The sequence editor saves shared campaign text, AI commands and a separate formatted signature. Saving does not generate an email.
Literal-text and AI-command steps are currently for sourcing previews only, including steps containing only your own text. They cannot enter Outreach’s normal research and draft queue, and a follow-up stops at such a step. Keep AI-guided steps for that drafting flow.
Use the separate profile-based preview and check generated claims against their excerpts. It lasts at most one hour and can expire earlier after access, source or sequence changes. No contact is revealed, no message is created and nobody is enrolled. Set up any sending mailbox separately using Email Delivery.
Daily sourcing, automatic enrollment, contact reveal and a booking-link picker in this workspace are not available. Source expiry or erasure can remove retained evidence and previews; external MCP clients may keep copies of earlier responses independently.
