Outreach Overview
What Kit's Outreach module is, how AI-powered cold email works, and what's included in the addon.
What Outreach Does
Outreach groups prospects into campaigns. AI researches each person and company, then prepares an email draft for you to review and approve.
The agent uses accessible web pages, source URLs, and your notes. If a page cannot be read or little information is available, the draft may need more context. After sending, Kit tracks replies and prepares the next messages in the sequence.
Who It’s For
| Persona | Goal | Primary Pain |
|---|---|---|
| Founder doing BD | Book meetings with potential partners, customers, or investors | Writing 20+ personalized emails a day is unsustainable alongside product work |
| Sales team | Fill the top of the pipeline with qualified leads | Generic templates get ignored; manual research per prospect is too slow |
| Recruiter sourcing passive candidates | Reach developers, designers, and specialists who aren’t actively applying | Cold emails to passive candidates need to feel personal and relevant |
How It Works
- Subscribe — Add the Outreach addon ($19.99/mo) from Account > Billing
- Configure SMTP — Connect your email server so Kit sends from your domain
- Create a campaign — Pick a starter template or build from scratch with AI directives and sequences
- Add prospects — Paste a URL, enter details manually, or import a CSV
- AI drafts — Kit’s AI agent researches each prospect and writes a personalized email
- Approve — Review every draft, edit if needed, then approve to queue for sending
- Handle replies — Kit detects replies via IMAP, classifies sentiment, and surfaces conversations that need attention
Campaign Lifecycle
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Draft | Campaign is being configured. No emails are sent. |
| Active | Prospects are being researched, drafted, and sent on your approval. |
| Paused | Automatic sending stops, but you can still run research and drafting manually on pending prospects. Existing drafts remain for review. |
| Completed | The campaign has been marked complete. Kit stops sending further messages in its sequences. |
You can archive a campaign to remove it from the active list without losing data.
